Upper Axle

Upper Axle is a small Reisuii mining village inside the caves of Gajoi's Claw on the Isle of Kasau. The village is built on the edge of a copper mine and features a small train to Lower Axel in the Deep.

Warning:Upper and Lower Axle are still being written and very likely to change as I expand on their stories. The name of this town in particular is subject to change as the backstory develops.

Upper Axle is a small Reisuii mining village and trade outpost.

Mining

The village primarily mines copper and smelts bronze, both of which are common commodities in the Reisuii's economy and provide stable but limited income to the village.

Trade and Economy

As the value of copper and bronze ingots produced in Upper Axel are of limited value on the Reisuii market, a few Reisuii shopkeepers in Upper Axle are trying to attract Taipii visitors from the nearby village of Gajoi's Claw to sell Reisuii goods to. Such trade has been limited due to the Taipii currency on the Isle of Kasau being Pearls instead of the Gold Coins the Reisuii would prefer to collect.

Transportation

Forest Mines Railway Station

The Forest Mines Railway terminates in the villages of Upper Axle, and can be ridden down into The Deep to Lower Axle and onto the Reisuii city of ((currently unnamed).

A train regularly travels between Upper and Lower Axle, with room for both passengers and industrial cargo.

Ownership

  • The claim for Hytzl-Kay Copper Mine was made by Ian Hytzl-Kay the Seventh, an independent prospector.
  • The Village of Upper Axle was founded by Ruth Kay-Hytzl the Fourth, Flynn Hytzl-Kay, and Tim Hytzl-Kay. They and their decedents hold a large majority of shares in the mine and village.
  • The Forest Mines Railway owns shares in the village and mine.
  • Builders who helped establish the village hold a small number of shares in the village and mine.
  • Miners hold a small number of shares in the mine.
Info:The mines of Upper and Lower Axle were claimed a few years before the  Kasau Expedition. The extension of the Forest Mines Railway and construction of the villages was well underway during the incident involving the unknown entities, but the Hytzl-Kay family adamantly insists rumors of the event are false and that miners should not spread such tales.
Visiting Representatives
  • A representative of Aggregate is stationed in Upper Axle, pressuring owners of the mine and village to sell their shares to Aggregate.
