Antilia Update, Toi Engine to Become Open Source

Jen: 87
I wouldn't want anyone to be excluded from this game, but...

DirectX 9 came out in 2002. And like the Pentium 4 that came two years before it can still be found just about everywhere. They both had their time, as the latest version for both was 2008.

I feel it's time DX9 was put out to pasture.

in order for this game to do well with modern processors, it would have to be compatible with direct x 12 or have multi core rendering

if i'm not killing off all the local wild life(because quests are boring) i'm exploring the world. i like to see all the stuff the art team has made.

I'm new here, and I have to say, i'm rather eager to see this finished. I just hope it isn't dropped part-way through like so many other projects i've seen, and even been part of.

.. (Toi has support for plug-in based rendering solutions, meaning Toi could in theory support DX9, DX11, and OpenGL concurrently.)
(Yes, a necro!) That means it could also possibly end up supporting Vulkan too. (Which supposedly is a bit more difficult to implement, but it's supported by a LOT of gpus. It's like Mantle + PhysX if they were bridged/combined.)
