Night in Alenfay (non-canon RP)

'Ah, to be back in Alenfay, if only for a night...'

As the sun hung low in the sky, Merid da'Nayr sat down at a small table in the tavern. The orange-brown Vulan waved to the innkeeper, who quickly hurried over.

"What can I do fer' ya, mister?" the rotund Koro questioned.

"I'll have a room for the night," Merid replied.

"Ah, all right. Here we are," the innkeeper handed Merid a small brass key, "Number three, up one floor on the left."

"Thankee."

"Can I do anything else fer' ya?"

"Mmhm. I'll take a well-done hunk of Koura meat, and don't be shy with the spices."

"Ah yes! That'll be splendid! Can I bring you a bit of wine?"

"Wine? Oh yes. Nothing really compares to the alcohol in these parts!"

"Indeed, indeed! I'll be back shortly." The innkeeper strode off to deal with the next customer.

A trickle of travelers were heading in and out the door at all times. In the corner, a group of silk-clothed dancers whispered and giggled to one another, preparing to begin. The musicians were tuning.

Merid smelled the fine air of Alenfay. It was good to be back, if only for one night.

((So yeah. This RP will start now, in the evening, and go until the sun rises. no epic plots, just a night in the tavern... what happens is up to everyone. Alenfay is a crossroads of sorts, a place where travelers can stop. Be nice, don't god-mod, use common sense, and put OOC stuff in OOC tags. And have fun! :D))

((oh yay something to do, I was just getting bored))

The white felo female enters quickly, looking around as if looking for someone then sitting down quietly not finding them, but soon perks her ears as a black vulan enters and heads over to sit with her, both speaking with hushed tones over a large map he brought.

((Hopefully a few more people join, then we can start a bit more "real" interaction.))

The musicians started playing, slowly at first. The room slowly quieted down, and then the players began to speed up. The notes were unfamiliar at first, but soon settled into a popular jig. The dancers sprung out onto the stage, twirling in sync with the music. Silk fluttered from their extravagant yet rather lacking outfits. Every now and again, a piece of silk would fly out into the audience, and the crowd would surge towards it, hoping to snatch the coveted prize.

As the dance went on, a buzz of conversation returned to the room, much as some of the Taipii had returned to their drinks.

A heavyset Koro strode over to a table where a white Felo and a black Vulan sat over a map. "Welcome to the east side of Alenfay! What can I get fer' ya?"

The vulan spoke first,
"You can buzz off", then the felo,
"Be nice Moon", he sneered,
"Can it Sunny, we both know we're busy", Sunny sighed,
"I'll have a bit a wine if you got any", Moon shook his head,
"I guess if were getting drinks, hard cider for me, she's paying"

The innkeeper was a bit taken aback. Two travelers had come into a tavern and one had no intention to drink!?

But then, a request for wine. "Of course, of course! It's well known that Alenfay has the best wine in all of Antilia! And, if you're preferring cider, I can get you some of that as well."

He rushes back to the bar, where he prepares their drinks, and also talks to another ucstomer who just arrived.

((Yay my first rp post :D))

A black lupan entered the tavern, he wore a hood that concealed most of his face.
He walked across the room and sat down at the table in the corner in the back of the room.

Returning to the white Vulan and the black Felo, the innkeeper delivered their drinks. "Anything else I can get for you folks?"

Meanwhile, one of the tavern staff approached the newcomer, a black Lupan. "E'en sir. What can I get you to drink?"

"A pint of your finest ale, please." The lupan answered as he pulled out a small book in which he started writing.

Rushing back to the counter, the assistant hollered out the newcomer's request, before grabbing a plate of hot koura meat and heading over to Merid.

"All right, sir. Here be your koura meat. We used our finest spices, straight from the Tays! And, your wine!"

After the server finished pouring from a sleek glass wine bottle into a finely-crafted clay glass, Merid nodded. "Very good, very good. Thankee much."

The server nodded, and went on to the next order of business.

Meanwhile, a rotund Koro hurried over to the black Lupan. "You wanted ale? I must say, we've got the finest wine here in Alenfay, but ale it is!" He set down the frosted mug. "Anything else I can do for you? P'raps a room for the night?"

((Any characters in here that are carrying weapons and would seem to be of the fighting/mercenary type? Scholar types?))
