Questions for the new Development Video Series (Feedback Wanted!)

Hello everyone!

I've begun capturing footage for a new YouTube series on Antilia's development. Instead of a live stream, this time I will be capturing footage throughout the week as I come across challenges that I feel are of particular interest. The length and frequency of these videos we will sort out as we have more footage. Work is currently focused around programming, which doesn't always make for good live streams and can even be a challenge writing blog posts for - but with this format I can provide more frequent status updates on Antilia while also explaining how Antilia works and can be modded for those that are interested. (It's no secret that I love sharing my thoughts and ideas on game development.)

With this format however we lose the immediate feedback that chat provides in a live stream, and I'd really like to continue to include the community in the development of Antilia. The Antilia community provides me with a lot of motivation to continue working on the project. There are still other things we could include for the community portion of the video - contests/challenges, "mailbag" style segments, gift swaps, giveaways, etc. I'd like to find the right sort of interaction for our community (but please keep in mind I cannot take development resources away from the project too much for the videos of course.)

For the first video, I would like to hear the community's thoughts on what sort of things they would like to see in a new video series, including ideas on interactive community features. I will read these suggestions in the first video and respond with my thoughts on what we can make happen in the upcoming series!

Things I would like to hear in a new video series on Antilia? How about talking about the lore? Or maybe a bit about some of the features of the game you have planned (especially the ones that were thrown out originally because of the mmo setting but now a possibility again)?

And of course development updates are alright too. ^_^

As for community interaction ideas, nothing really coming up on my end right now. I'll keep thinking about it though.

I would absolutely like to hear more about the lore and world of Antilia as well. It would be interesting to hear about the game world and it's denizen.

Another thing you can do is show off some concept art, perhaps some from the earlier days as well, just to see how the concept of the game has evolved.

As for community interaction, the mailbag segments seems to be the best idea for now, as it shouldn't take too much time away from development.

I only have a moment to type, but I consider ridiculous bugs as fun to see when they appear.

I really enjoyed some of the more in-depth articles you had about developing the engine (The article on different methods of lighting(?) was really cool!). Perhaps in the videos you can occasionally show what the engine capable of...

I'll just leave this here...

Not really sure what to ask since I already seen the streams about it years ago... guess it'll be an entertaining watch again.

Great feedback everyone, thank you! I'll respond to some of these ideas directly in the video, but I will also certainly include both a technical update as well as some lore discussion with the other developers in the new series. I should have the first video of the new series done soon, and I'll post it to all the usual places when it's complete!
