When will we see more Magic

Since one of the picks for your home city was one with the Magic Academy, it would be nice to be able to see more of the Magic system that is being developed for the game.

Will the crystals only be hand held, or can they be included in a weapon?

How can we find Crystals for use?

How many kids of Crystals are there, and what is the limit on Crystal combinations?

We're working on magic improvements along side combat improvements in this next version. Over the past few day's we've made some pretty important lore decisions regarding the rules of magic (or more specifically, miiraun, as use of dream and ether could be considered a sort of magic as well).

I've mentioned it before - I tend to prefer to create magic characters myself in fantasy rpgs. Personally though, I'm not interested in creating another game where magic is just presented as an alternate set of hotbar icons that cast fireball instead of swinging a sword... I want to create a world where magic is about... using magic. Antilia is an indie game, and as such, I intend to experiment with alternate gameplay concepts when it comes to what it means to be a mage in the world of Antilia.

Thus far, it seems our magic system is largely inspired by the Wheel of Time and Mistborn for those who are like me fans of fantasy novels. I plan to create a distinctive gameplay system around the use of magic, the same way I'd like to re-think the way combat works. Some of these ideas may work, and certainly some of them won't work too well. At any rate - I want it to be interesting and immersive, even before we dial it in.

Addendum: To answer your specific questions:

The Taipii are a magic society, and while not everyone is a mage, certainly magic is the technological basis of the Taipii. Mages have their own magical reserves, and magic can be stored in crystals.
To answer the question, higher-tier weapons will almost always include slots for a magical weave and a magic crystal. Magic is not limited just to mages, equipment can be augmented with magical effects as well.

Magic crystals will likely be created through Alchemy, but will not have any charge until a mage charges the crystal.

That is still something we are working on, and in fact just had a bit of a design breakthrough yesterday. These topics are still very much subject to change, but we're currently looking at different sets of minor and major crystals that can hold charges in different directions for different energy types. As I said, it's still a work-in-progress, but we're very excited to refine these concepts into solid rules.

I am not sure if you appreciate nitpicking, but I just noticed that the last quote from Thagrahn has a noticeable misspelling, I think it should read "How many kinds..."
