Between working on the new character meshes and the combat system - I've been adding a few features to Antilia as I can. This week, I've been working on a new dynamic shadow-casting system.
I'm really pleased with the way they turned out though - it really adds punch to the screenshots, and a nice bit of of polish to the rendering engine.

Currently, the dynamic shadows are a bit expensive - they require Shader 3.0 support with the shader quality set to "high". Unfortunately, by their nature dynamic shadows require per-pixel lighting which doesn't come cheap. Now that I have the basic algorithms in place, however, I'm planning for a simpler Medium Quality technique that should run a bit faster - but only render shadows on the terrain.
